[베이징=AP/KNS뉴스통신] 중국과 아프간 양국은 접경지역에서의 긴밀한 협조에서부터 질병 통제에 이르는 광범위한 분야에서 협조하기로 하면서 중국과 아프간의 관계가 긴밀해지고 있다.
베이징에서 8일 열린 지역 안보 기구인 상하이 협조기구의 연례 회의에 옵서버 자격으로 참석한 하미드 카르자이 아프간 대통령은 후진타오 중국 주석과 회담을 갖고 공동 선언문을 발표했다.
중국은 2014년 미국과 국제 동맹군의 철수이후 아프간에서 안정과 복구에 큰 역할을 노리고 있다.
벌써부터 중국의 기업들이 아프간의 구리와 기타 광물 자원 채굴권을 확보하기 위해 움직임을 보이고 있는 한편, 중국 정부는 아프간 공공서비스 부문에 필요한 장비와 훈련을 제공하고 있다.

With new pact, China moves to shore up Afghan ties
BEIJING (AP) — China is shoring up ties with Afghanistan with a joint declaration pledging closer cooperation in areas from border security to disease control.
The document was issued following a meeting Friday in Beijing between Chinese President Hu Jintao and his Afghan counterpart, Hamid Karzai.
Karzai had earlier attended the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a regional security bloc of which Afghanistan is an observer state.
China is positioning itself for a bigger role in Afghanistan following the departure of most U.S. and other international troops at the end of 2014.
Already, Chinese companies have moved to secure Afghan copper and other mineral rights, while the government has provided equipment and training for the civil service.
