[마드리드(스페인)=AP/KNS뉴스통신] 국제신용평가사 피치(Fitch)가 스페인 장기 국가 신용등급을 ‘A’에서 ‘BBB’로 3단계 강등했다. 금융위기에 놓인 스페인의 외부 재정지원이 불가피하다는 이유에서다.
7일 피치는 스페인 은행권이 발표한 자료를 인용해 은행 재자본화 비율이 600억 유로(한화 약 90조원) 혹은 1,000억 유로에 달할 경우 ‘최악의 시나리오’를 직면하게 되며 이에 늘어나는 정부 부채를 감당하기 어려워질 것으로 분석했다. 피치는 이어 2013년까지 경기침체를 유지할 것으로 보고 특히 주변국인 그리스 위기로 부터 전염되기 쉬운 점 등을 강등의 이유로 꼽았다.
피치는 등급전망은 부정적으로 제시하는 한편 스페인의 재정위기는 은행 부분 재구조화와 외부 지원에 의한 가능성만 크게 만들었을 뿐이라고 지적했다.
MADRID (AP) — Fitch Ratings has downgraded Spanish sovereign debt by three notches from A to BBB and said the likelihood of external financial support is rising.
It cited what it called the recapitalization needs of Spanish banks, which it put at around €60 billion, or even €100 billion in a "high stress" scenario, a big increase in government debt if such a bailout does occur, continuing recession this year and in 2013, and a high level of foreign indebtedness that makes it very vulnerable to the crisis in Greece.
The agency also said that Spain's financing difficulties will make it hard for it to intervene decisively in a banking sector restructuring and thus raise the likelihood of outside external help.
