[버지니아=AP/KNS뉴스통신] 지난 2007년 한국계 학생 조승희의 무차별 총기난사로 32명의 사망자를 냈던미국 버지니아 공대 캠퍼스에서 또 다시 총격 사건이 발생했다.
9일(현지시각) AP통신에 따르면 캠퍼스 내 교통정리를 하던 보안관이 차 안에 있던 자가 쏜 총에 맞아 그 자리에서 숨졌으며 범인으로 추정되는 자는 인근 주차장으로 피신, 또 다른 한 명을 살해했다고 보도했다.
이날 사건의 목격자들 진술에 따르면 범인으로 추정되는 자는 백인 남성으로 회색 팬츠에 후드가 달린 상의를 입고 있는 것으로 알려졌다.
사건 직후 사망자들은 곧바로 인근 병원으로 이송됐으며 사고가 발생한 공대 캠퍼스에는 학생들과 주민들의 애도의 물결이 이어지고 있다.
