서울, 4월 25일 (신화) - 한국정부 보고에 의하면 2월 한국의 신생아수는 경제가 회복세를 타고 어린애를 갖기를 원하는 부부들이 늘어나면서 12개월 연속 증가했다고 한다.
한국 통계청의 보고서에 따르면 2월 신생아수는 38,200명으로 작년 동기 비교 4.4%, 1,600명 증가한 것으로 나타났다.
2008년 3월을 기점으로 24개월 연속 감소했던 출산은 지난 2월로 연속 12개월 증가한 것이다.
한국 미디어의 보도에 의하면 글로벌 금융위기 이후 다시 경제가 회복하면서 애를 더 갖고 싶은 가족이 늘어나는데서 이유를 찾고 있다고 했다.
현지 미디어는 결혼식 수는 9개월 만에 지난 2월 하락세로 반전했는데 작년 동월에 비해 2.5% 감소한 23,600건으로 하락했다고 보도했다.

Childbirth in S. Korea grows for 12 straight months
SEOUL, April 25 (Xinhua) -- The number of babies born in South Korea in February showed growth for the 12th consecutive month as the recovering economy spurred more couples to have babies, a government report showed Monday.
The number of babies born in February reached 38,200, up 4.4 percent, or 1,600, from the same month a year earlier, according to the report by Statistics Korea.
February marked the 12th consecutive month of growth for the country's childbirth, after it had declined for 24 straight months starting March 2008.
The increase can be attributed to the growing number of couples with baby plans thanks to the economic recovery after the global financial crisis, local media reported.
The number of marriages, however, turned downhill in February for the first time in nine months. The number stood at 23,600, down 2.5 percent from the same month a year before, according to the report.
