Egypt starts national dialogue: TV
CAIRO, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian caretaker Prime Minister Essam Sharaf inaugurated the first session of a national dialogue on Wednesday.
"National dialogue will decide our nation's future," said Sharaf in a televised speech before the talks.
The caretaker prime minister said the dialogue laid the ground for government management and decision making, saying that "I do not hope that the government would speak too much in the dialogue, leaving space and freedom to all Egyptian different parties without limits."
Yahia al-Gamal, the prime minister's senior aide who chaired the dialogue, said the purpose of the first session was to reach a common understanding for holding real talks among all political parties, civil societies, professions and labor unions.
Essam el-Erian, a representative of the Muslim Brotherhood, said "we couldn't reach reconciliation unless there are clear investigations and trails for the former regime's corrupted figures."
He added that there should be enough time before the next session to make better plans, preparations and new initiatives.
Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa, who has announced intention to run for the next presidential elections, described the dialogue as "positive" and called for reaching "national reconciliation" at the begining of the meeting.
Three youth coalitions were invited, but they refused to attend, saying "most of the attendees were officials in the former ruling regime."

이집트 국민과의 대화 시작

무슬림 형제단은 과거정권의 부패인사들에 대한 조사와 처벌 없이는 진정한 화해에 이르지 못할 이라고 했다. 또한 다음 대화 때 까지 더 나은 계획, 준비 그리고 새로운 제안이 나와야 할 것이다 고 말했다.
차기 대통령선거에 출마할 의사를 발표한 아므르 무사 아랍리그 사무총장은 이 대화를 긍정적으로 평가했으며 국민간의 화해를 이끌어 내야 한다고 말했다.
청년연맹 단체들도 대화에 참여하도록 초청되었으나 참여자의 대부분이 과거 정권의 인사들이라며 참석을 거부했다.
