Philippines: China executes 3 Filipino drug mules
MANILA, Philippines (AP) — The Philippine vice president says China has executed three Filipinos convicted of drug smuggling despite last-minute appeals for clemency.
Vice President Jejomar Binay says he received word of the executions Wednesday from Philippine diplomats.
The three were arrested separately in 2008 carrying packages containing at least 8 pounds (4 kilograms) of heroin. They were convicted and sentenced in 2009.
