[카라카스=신화통신/KNS뉴스통신] 휴고 차베스 베네주엘라 대통령은 미국과 유럽 연합에 리비아에서의 군사개입을 중지하라는 요구를 계속하고 있다.
베네주엘라는 서방국가들이 NATO(북대서양조약기구) 군의 무력을 의지해 리비아 무아마르 카다피 측 군대들에 맞서고 있는 이 광기어린 전쟁의 종결을 지으라고 주장하는 것이라고 차베스는 말했다.
"국제사회는 그대신 지속적인 평화조약의 협상을 가능하게 하는 환경을 창조하기 위해 일해야 한다"고 차베스는 베네주엘라 국영 TV와의 인터뷰에서 말했다.
그는 리비아의 무력 분쟁에 대한 평화적인 해결책 모색을 위한 기초를 구축하기 위해 다른 남미국가들이 “이 모든 야만성 앞에 단결해야 한다"고 촉구하기도 했다.
차베스는 아프리카와 남미가 모두 합쳐 세계 총 원유저장량의 40%를 보유하고 있어서 이 두 대륙의 국가들은 끊임없이 제국주의의 감시아래 놓여 왔었다고 말했다.

CARACAS, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Monday repeated requests that the United States and the European Union (EU) stop military intervention in the Libya.
He said Caracas "insists" that western countries operating under the forces of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) put an end "to this madness of war" against forces of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
He also called on other South American nations to collaborate The international community should instead work on creating an environment that facilitates negotiations for a lasting peace agreement, Chavez told the official Venezuelan Television network in an interview. "before all this barbarism" in laying a groundwork for a peaceful solution to armed conflicts in Libya.
Chavez said that as Africa and South America alone account for 40 percent of the world's total reserves of crude oil, countries of these continents have been constantly under the scrutiny of "imperial powers."
