반군 지휘관인 압둘아 아이타는 카다피의 주력부대가 주둔하고 있는 트리폴리 남쪽 650km에 위치해 있는 세브하시로 향하고 있는 캐러밴이 차드 국경과 100km 떨어진 사막에서 5일 밤 폭격을 당했다. 이들은 기관총, 박격포, 탄약등을 운반하고 있었다고 한다.
리비아 내전은 지난 2월 중순 반정부 시위가 발생하면서 발발한 이래 수개월동안 정부군과 반군 간에 교착상태가 유지되고 있다. 이 보도는 나토에 즉시 확인되지 않고 있다.

Libyan rebels: NATO bombs camel weapons caravan
BENGHAZI, Libya (AP) — A Libyan rebel commander says his forces have unconfirmed reports that NATO has struck and destroyed a caravan of camels carrying weapons from neighboring Chad.
Abdullah Aitha says the camels were headed for the southern city of Sebha, 400 miles (650 kilometers) south of Tripoli, where much of Gadhafi's military force comes from.
Aitha said Saturday the camels were carrying heavy caliber machine guns, mortars and ammunition when they were bombed in a desert 100 kilometers (62 miles) from the Chad border on Friday evening.
Libya's civil war erupted shortly after anti-regime protests swept across Libya in mid-February, and neither side has made significant gains for months.
NATO could not be immediately reached for comment.
