[서울=AP/KNS뉴스통신] 북한이 북한 서해안에서 발견된 한국인 시신을 송환한 것으로 알려졌다.
한국 통일부는 15일 이 시신이 판문점을 통해서 송환되었다고 밝혔다.
2005년 한국인 시신이 마지막으로 송환된 이래 북한 수역에서 한국인 시신이 발견되기는 이번이 처음이다.
통일부는 북한당국이 이 남자의 주민등록증으로 신원을 파악한 것으로 믿는다고 발표했다.
현재 이 사람이 어떻게 북한에서 죽었는지 또는 북한 수역으로 넘어갔는지에 대해 즉각 알려지지 않고 있다.

North Korea returns corpse of South Korean man
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea has handed over the body of a South Korean man found in the North's western waters.
South Korea's Unification Ministry says the body was repatriated at the truce village of Panmunjom on Friday.
It's rare for the bodies of South Koreans to be found in North Korean waters. North Korea last repatriated the corpse of a South Korean in 2005.
The Unification Ministry says it believes the North confirmed the man's nationality throughout his identification card.
It wasn't immediately known how the man died and why his body drifted into North Korean waters.
