[런던/AP통신] 영국의 글락소스미스클라인(GSK)은 뇌물 수수 때문에 조사 중인 GSK차이나에 새로운 책임자를 임명했다고 지난 25일 밝혔다.
중국 경찰은 GSK차이나에서 일하고 있는 4명의 직원들이 의사와 병원에게 약을 처방하라고 권장하기 위해 뇌물을 상납한 혐의가 있다고 밝혔다.
영국에 기반한 GSK차이나는 4명의 직원들이 기업 지배 밖에서 행동하고 있다고 말하며, 뇌물수수 혐의사건에 관여했다.
지난 25일, GSK는 헤르브 기서롯(Herve Gisserot)을 GSK차이나의 총감독으로 임명했다고 밝혔다.
헤르브 기서롯은 최근 런던에 있는 GSK 유럽의 수석 부사장으로 일했었다.
GSK는 헤르브 기서롯이 오는 몇 주에 걸쳐 새로운 역할을 맡을 것이라고 밝혔다.

LONDON (AP) — GlaxoSmithKline has named a new chief for its operations in China amid an investigation there for possible bribery of doctors, the drug manufacturer said Thursday.
Chinese police say that four employees of GSK China are suspected of paying bribes to doctors and hospitals to encourage them to prescribe medications.
The U.K.-based company has distanced itself from the scandal, saying that the four members of staff were acting outside of company controls.
On Thursday, GSK said it has appointed Herve Gisserot as general manager for GSK China pharmaceuticals, succeeding Mark Reilly.
The move will allow Reilly to dedicate himself to helping direct the company's response to the bribery investigation, GSK said.
Gisserot most recently served as a senior vice-president for GSK's European business, based in London.
GSK said he will transition into his new role over the next few weeks.
