[샌프란시스코=AP/KNS뉴스통신] 야후는 위조한 복권에 당첨된 복권구입자들로 하여금 야후가 스폰서한 것처럼 속인 사기 사건의 6억 2,700백만 달러 재판에서 승소했다고 발표했다.
야후에 의하면 복권사기는 복권을 사면서 비밀번호와 은행 계좌번호와 사회보장보험번호 (SSN)와 같은 개인정보를 제공하도록 설계하여 속인 것이라고 소장에서 주장했다.
야후의 9월말 보유현금은 29억 달러로 6억 2,700만 달러의 수령으로 고전하는 야후에게 큰 도움이 될 것이다.

Yahoo wins $627M judgment in alleged lottery scam
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Yahoo says it has won a $627 million court judgment in a scam that tried to dupe people into believing they had won prizes in a bogus lottery sponsored by the Internet company.
Yahoo alleged in its lawsuit that the lottery hoax was designed to dupe people into providing passwords and other sensitive personal data, such as credit card account information and Social Security numbers.
Yahoo Inc. ended September with about $2.9 billion in cash. So actually receiving the $627 million would give the struggling Internet company a big boost.
