[상트 페테르부르크=신화통신/KNS뉴스통신] 러시아의 한 고위관리는 13일(현지시간) 리비아와 시리아가 북아프리카와 중동지역 테러리스트들의 ‘요새’가 될지도 모른다고 경고했다.
러시아외무부 ‘신도전위협지역관리부’ 일리야 로가체프 부장은 상트 페테르부르크대학 강의 중에 이 문제를 제시했다.
“만약 시리아정부가 권력을 장악하지 못하면 급진 테러조직들이 국내에서 그들의 세력을 확고히 할 높은 가능성과 더불어, 유사한 시나리오가 리비아에서도 동시 발생할 수 있다”고 로가체프가 말했다.
그 관계자는 2003년 사담 후세인 정권이 실각된 이후로부터 터러리스트들이 더욱 극렬해 진 그 이라크와 흡사한 제2의 이라크가 될지도 모른다고 경고했다.
노획된 군사무기들로 구축된 방공 시스템은 결국 최종적으로 알카에다 손에 떨어질지도 모른다고 로가체프는 우려를 표하였다.

T. PETERSBURG, Russia, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- A senior Russian official warned Wednesday that Libya and Syria could become terrorist strongholds in North Africa and the Middle East. Ilya Rogachev, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's new challenges and threats department, raised the issue during a lecture at Saint-Petersburg State University.
"If the Syrian government cannot keep power, there is a high possibility that radical and terror organizations will strengthen their power in the country," Rogachev said, adding the same scenario could also occur in Libya.
The official also warned Libya might become another Iraq, where terrorists have been more active since Saddam Hussein's regime was toppled in 2003.
Rogachev said anti-aircraft systems from looted military arsenals in Libya could end up in al-Qaeda's hands. Enditem
