[워싱턴=신화통시/KNS뉴스통신] 테러리스트 그룹들이 리비아 내 방어망 확보를 위해 노력중이나, 아직까지 리비아과도정부위원회(NTC)는 이를 거절해왔다고 14일(현지시각) 미국방성 관리들이 말했다.
테러리스트 그룹들은 항상 기회획득 목표를 두고 탐색하고 있다고 전하면서 미국방성 정세 브리핑에서 분석평가를 내렸다.
소말리아의 샤바브, 나이제리아의 보코 하람, 회교권 마그레브(Maghreb)지역의 알카에댜 등에 이르기까지 모든 테러리스트 그룹들이 북아프리카 다른 부분들에서 세력을 넓혀왔는데, 언론매체에 브리핑을 한 미국방성관리들에 의하면 알제리아를 기반으로 하는 한 그룹이 파키스탄의 ‘테릭크 이 탈리반’과 더불어 작업중일 것이라고 강하게 추정된다는 것이다.
미 관리들은 다른 테러리스트 분파그룹들 간에 서로 얼마나 긴밀한 관계로 함께 작업하고 있는지에 대해 정보관들이 연구하고 있다고 말했다. “그들은 계속 근심꺼리로 남을 것이다”라고 국방성 관리가 말했다.
NTC는 테러리스트 그룹들을 거부해 왔는데, 이것은 분명 그들과 친밀한 관계가 되기는 이미 너무 멀어져 있다는 것이 분명해 보인다.
“조직을 와해시킬 요소가 있는데 이념적 요소와는 또 다른 문제다. 그들을 전술적으로 불능상태로 만들 수도 있다. 그러나 그렇다고 해서 우리가 ‘알카에다 정신’까지 완전 소탕할 수 있는 것은 아니다”라고 한 국방성 관리가 말했다.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Defense Department officials on Wednesday said terrorist groups are trying to gain hold in Libya, but has been so far rejected by the Libyan National Transitional Council (NTC).
The officials made the assessment in a Pentagon background briefing, saying terrorist groups are "always looking for a target of opportunity." The officials said the NTC has rejected the terrorist groups and "it certainly seems that they have gone to great lengths to disassociate themselves."
Terrorist groups have expanded in other parts of North Africa, including al Shabaab in Somalia, Boko Haram in Nigeria, and al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, an Algerian-based group believed to be working with Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan, according to the officials, who briefed media in condition of anonymity.
The U.S. officials said intelligence officials are studying the degree to which terrorist splinter groups are working together. "They'll remain a concern," said one Defense Department official. "There is an element of defeating the organization ... that is separate from the ideological component. You can get them to be operationally incapable, but that doesn't destroy the idea of al-Qaida." .
