[모스크바=신화/KNS] 12일 국제빙상연맹이 러시아의 세계적인 피겨스케이팅 남자 금메달리스트 에브게니 플루쉔코의 아마추어 자격을 회복시킴에 따라 2014년 동계 올림픽 참가에 파란불이 켜졌다.
발렌틴 피세예프 러시아 빙상연맹 회장은 “국제빙상연맹이 오늘 에브게니 플루쉔코의 아마추어 자격을 회복시키기 했다“ 고 전했다.
작년 플루쉔코(28)가 연맹의 허가를 받지 않고 시범경기에 참가하면서 국제빙상연맹으로 부터 제재를 받으면서 2014년 올림픽 참가자격을 박탈당한 바 있다.
2006년 토리노 올림픽 금메달리스트인 그는 무릎부상으로 2010년 밴쿠버 올림픽에 참가가지 않았고 그 이후 국제빙상연맹의 허가 없이 시범경기에 참가해 왔다.
작년 6월 경기 참가 자격이 박탈당했으나 국제빙상연맹이 규정한 21일의 항소기간을 넘기면서 결정이 확정되었다.

Plushenko given 2014 Sochi Games green light
MOSCOW, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Yevgeny Plushenko, three-time figure skating world champion, got the green light for the 2014 Olympics after the International Skating Union (ISU) restored the Russian's amateur status on Sunday.
"The ISU council decided to restore Plushenko's amateur status today. It was their unanimous decision," said Valentin Piseyev, executive director of the Russian skating federation.
The 28-year-old Plushenko lost his eligibility to skate at the 2014 Olympics after the ISU punished him for skating in exhibitions without permission last year.
The 2006 Olympic champion had pulled out of the 2010 world championship due to a knee injury but then skated in exhibitions without the authorisation of the ISU.
He was banned in June and did not appeal within the 21 days allowed so the ISU confirmed they were upholding their decision.
