올림픽 조직위원회는 남자 100미터 결승전에 입장 가능한 20,000석에 1백만 장의 구매요구를 포함해서 공급 입장권 6백6십만 장에 2천만장의 구매요청을 받았다고 발표했다.
존슨시장은 개인적으로 아무 입장권을 입수하지 못해 실망했지만 한번 더 시도 할 뜻을 내 비쳤다.
공급 가능한 티켓 보다 지원자 수가 더 많은 입장권은 추첨을 통해서 배정될 것으로 1일 자정을 시점으로 입장권 구매자의 은행계좌에서 대금이 이체되게 되어있다.
입장식 입장권은 최저 20파운드 (33 달러)에서 2,012 파운드 (3,300 달러)에 책정되어 있는데 6월 24일 까지 배정된 자석에 대해 발표가 되지 않을 것이다.
일차 배정투표에서 떨어진 신청자는 이달 말에 실시되는 2차 배정투표에서 우선권이 주어 질 것으로 알려졌다.

London mayor misses out on Olympic tickets
LONDON (AP) — London Mayor Boris Johnson says he is among those to have missed out in the first ticket ballot for the 2012 Olympics.
Organizers said they received 20 million requests for 6.6 million tickets, including more than one million for the 20,000 available seats for the men's 100-meter final.
Johnson said Wednesday he was "personally disappointed not to have got any tickets but I shall try again."
Tickets for oversubscribed events were allocated through a lottery system and the money debited from the successful applicants' accounts by midnight (U.K. time) on Tuesday.
Prices ranged from 20 pounds ($33) to 2,012 pounds ($3,300) for a top seat at the opening ceremony. Buyers will not find out which tickets they have been allocated until June 24.
Those who missed out in the first ballot will be given priority in the second round of ticket sales later this month.
