[로스앤젤레스=AP/KNS뉴스통신] 마이클 잭슨의 여동생이며 5차례 그래미상을 수상한 자넷 잭슨(46)이 전 세계의 성 전환자들의 인생을 그린 다큐멘터리 영화를 제작한다.
뉴욕의 브레인 차일드 영화사는 4일 성 전환자와의 인터뷰가 실린 '진실' (Truth)의 제작을 위해 준비를 시작했다며 올 여름부터 그들의 생활과 고난을 그린 작품의 제작을 시작한다고 밝혔다.
과거에도 성 전환자에 관한 다큐멘터리를 연출한바 있는 로버트 제이슨이 이번 '진실'의 감독을 맡기로 했는데 이 영화에는 북미, 유럽, 호주와 라틴 아메리카 지역에 사는 그들의 이야기를 담는다.
잭슨은 이 다큐멘터리를 통해 성 전환자들에 대한 차별이 줄어들기 바란다는 성명을 발표했다.

Janet Jackson to produce transgender documentary
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Janet Jackson has signed on as an executive producer of a documentary on the lives of transgender people around the world.
New York-based Brainchild Films announced Monday that Jackson was working on "Truth" and would do some of the on-camera interviews. The documentary begins production this summer and will focus on the lives and struggles of transgender persons.
Jackson writes in a statement that she is working on the project to try to stop discrimination of the transgender community.
The 46-year-old sister of Michael Jackson has starred in several films and won five Grammy Awards.
"Truth" will be directed by Robert Jason, who previously directed a documentary for The Style Network on four transgender New Yorkers. He says "Truth" will feature stories from North America, Europe, Australia and Latin America.
