[방콕(타일랜드)=AP/KNS뉴스통신] 아시아 주요국 증시가 하락세로 장을 시작했다. 중국 제조업 경기가 예상과 달리 낮은 지수를 기록하며 세계 2위 강대국으로의 진입이 부진하다는 분석에서다.
5월 중국 제조업 구매관리자지수(PMI)가 국가통계국에 내놓은 지수와 달리 50.4%를 기록하며 지난달 53.3% 대비 2.9%하락했다. 지수가 100을 기준으로 50%를 하회하면서 지난달 대비 부진한 수치를 내놓았다.
이날 일본 니케이225지수는 전 거래일 대비 0.7% 떨어진 8,479.12에 오전장을 마감했다. 한국 코스피지수도 1,839.73를 기록하며 전 거래일 보다 0.2% 소폭 하락세를 보였다.
아시아권 주요 증시들도 소폭 하락하며 박스권내에서 혼조세를 보이고 있다.
호주 S&P/ASX 200지수는 0.3% 빠진 4.064.20에 마감했다. 인도네시아와 뉴질랜드도 동반 하락하고 있다.
반면 홍콩의 항셍지수는 0.3% 상승한 18,682.60에 거래 중이고 중국 상하이증시도 중국 제조업 경기가 6개월만에 하락세를 보이면서 정부가 추가 경기부양책을 제시할 것이라는 기대감이 상승세를 부추겼다.
BANGKOK (AP) — Asian stock markets fell Friday, stunted by weakness in Chinese manufacturing that suggests the slowdown in the world's No. 2 economy may worsen.
The state-affiliated China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing said its purchasing managers index, or PMI, fell 2.9 percentage points to 50.4 percent in May, just above the 50 level that signifies expansion. The index was at 53.3 in April.
New orders weakened more than 4 percentage points while inventories rose and prices softened due to weaker demand.
Japan's Nikkei 225 index fell 0.7 percent to 8,479.12 and South Korea's Kospi dropped 0.2 percent to 1,839.73. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index lost 0.3 percent to 4,064.20. Benchmarks in Indonesia and New Zealand were also lower.
But Hong Kong and mainland Chinese shares rose in tandem with investor hopes that China will now launch more measures to help its economy. Hong Kong's Hang Seng added 0.3 percent to 18,682.60.
