시리아가 1948년 이스라엘군에 패배한 날을 기념하는 팔레스타인 추모일에 대규모의 시위가 벌어지자 이스라엘 군이 아랍시위대와 충돌하여 수명이 사망하고 10여명이 부상당한 사태가 발생했다.
이번 충돌사태로 이스라엘 베냐민 네타냐후 총리는 15일 기자회견을 갖고 이스라엘군에 대해 최대한의 자제를 명령했다고 말하면서, 이스라엘은 국경과 주권을 수호하기 위해 굳은 결의를 하고 있다고 밝혔다.
