베이징, 4월 28일 (신화) - 중국의 고령인구가 급격히 늘어나고 있는 가운데 신생아 출산은 제 자리 걸음을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다고 중국 통계청 마 진엔탕 청장이 28일 발표했다.
마 청장은 14세 미만이 전체인구의 16.6%를 차지하고 있는 것으로 6차 전국 인구조사결과 나타났다고 말했는데, 이 숫자는 2000년 실시한 조사결과보다 6.29% 감소한 것이다.
마 청장은 최근의 조사결과 60세 이상의 중국인은 13.26%로 2000년 조사보다 2.93% 증가했다고 말했다.
작년에 실시한 중국 전국인구조사에서 전체인구는 2010년 13억3천9백7십만 명으로 밝혀졌다.

China's aging population expands rapidly: census
BEIJING, April 28 (Xinhua) -- China's aging population is increasing quickly while the birth rate remains low, Ma Jiantang, head of the National Bureau of Statistics said Thursday.
Ma was citing the results of the sixth national population census, which showed 16.6 percent of the country's population was aged 14 or younger. The figure was 6.29 percentage points lower than that in the 2000 census.
The latest census also found the proportion of Chinese people aged 60 or older took up 13.26 percent of the total, 2.93 percentage points higher than that in the 2000 census, Ma said.
China held its sixth national population census last year, which showed the country's total population hit 1.3397 billion in 2010.
