British prime minister in Pakistan for talks
ISLAMABAD (AP) — Britain's prime minister is in Islamabad for talks with top Pakistani officials expected to range from trade to fighting terrorism.
David Cameron's visit comes months after he sparked a diplomatic dustup by criticizing Pakistan's efforts to combat terrorism during a visit to India.
The British Embassy confirmed he was in Islamabad early Tuesday. Pakistan Television reported he visited the capital's grand Faisal Mosque.
Cameron is expected to meet with Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and President Asif Ali Zardari.
Britain has a large population of Pakistani descent, and several terror plots aimed at the U.K. have been traced to extremists in that group.
