[카라카스=AP/KNS뉴스통신] 베네수엘라 대법원은 19일 우고 차베스 대통령의 야당 지도자에 대한 부패혐의 고소를 각하했다.
이번 대법원에서 내년 대통령 선거의 유력 야당 후보인 엔리크 카프릴레스 주지사에 대한 동 재판소의 유효 판결이후 4일 만에 나온 기각결정이다.
대법원은 성명서에서 여당인 사회당 당수는 고소 권한이 없는 것으로 판결했다고 발표했다.
이번 고소가 성립되면 검찰은 카프릴레스 주지사에게 면책권을 박탈하고 기소할 수 있는 길을 열어 줄 것으로 예측되었다.
최근 여론조사에서 선두 주자인 베네수엘라 미란다 주의 카프릴레스 (39) 지사는 2012년 대통령선거의 야당 공동 후보로 유력시 되고 있다.

Venezuela court drops complaint against Chavez foe
CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuela's Supreme Court annulled a corruption complaint against a leading opponent of President Hugo Chavez on Tuesday.
The court's decision came just four days after it gave initial approval to the complaint against Henrique Capriles, a state governor and leading hopeful to represent the opposition in next year's presidential election.
The Supreme Court said in a statement that it had decided to quash the complaint after Chavez's socialist party said a party leader who lodged the complaint, Gerson Perez, had not been authorized to do so.
Capriles criticized both the court's initial decision to give a green light to the case and its argument for annulling it.
"The justice system has to change in our country. It has to be an impartial justice system," Capriles told the Venezuelan television channel Globovision.
If the case had gone forward, it would have opened the way for authorities to attempt to strip Capriles of his immunity from prosecution as a state governor in order to bring charges.
Capriles, 39, the governor of Miranda state, has announced plans to run in a primary planned for next February that opposition parties are using to pick a joint candidate ahead of the presidential election to be held in late 2012. He has been a leader in recent opinion polls.
