[리마=신화/KNS뉴스통신] 17일 발표된 여론조사 결과 페루 오얀타 우말라 대통령 당선자의 지지율이 취임식을 앞두고 29% 급락한 것으로 알려졌다.
지난달 실시된 여론조사에서는 70%가 지지하는 것으로 나타났으나 최근에 41%로 급락한 것으로 페루 주요 일간지인 '엘 코메르시오(El comercio)'가 보도했다.
대통령 당선자의 동생인 알렉시스 우말라가 러시아를 방문하여 국방과 에너지 업계 대표들과 만나고 온 이후 가열된 논란으로 인하여 이번 지지율 하락을 가져왔다.
페루 외무부는 성명서에서 대통령 당선자 동생은 특사 자격으로 러시아를 방문했다고 발표했다.
오얀타 우말라 당선자는 6월 5일 대통령 선거에서 승리하여 7월 28일 취임할 예정이다.

Peruvian president-elect's popularity dives before inauguration
LIMA, July 17 (Xinhua) -- The popularity of Peru's President-elect Ollanta Humala has experienced a sharp drop of 29 percentage points shortly before he takes office, according to a poll result published on Sunday.
A previous poll last month gave Humala an approval rating of 70 percent, however, the latest poll showed that his popularity has plummeted to only 41 percent, local daily El Comercio reported.
The drop could be due to controversy aroused by Humala's brother Alexis Humala, who recently traveled to Russia and met with the Russian government leaders and businessmen in defense and energy sectors.
A statement of the Peruvian Foreign Ministry said Alexis went to Russia as an "emissary," but Ollanta's Peru Wins alliance said Alexis "did not have any official representation."
Ollanta Humala won the country's presidential election on June 5 and is expected to take office on July 28.
